Morphological characteristics of Chervil (Anthriscus Cerefollium)

Chervil (Anthriscus Cerefollium) is an annual plant that grows up to the height of 12 to 24 inches. Its stem is round, finely grooved, hairy, much-branched, and light green. The flowers of this herb are delicate, dainty, and arranged in tiny umbels and white. Its leaves are bi-pinnate, compound, opposite, light green, and subdivided into opposite and deeply cut leaflets. The root single tapering is thin and white. Fruits are beaked, segmented, and oblong and seeds are long and pointed.

Habitat

It is cultivated in most of Europe by the Romans and the temperate part of Asia. It is native to Germany, England, and America but is not cultivated in India.
