Diet Chart for Post Covid19 Patients

Corona is a deadly virus affecting a large portion of the whole world’s population. On an average it takes around 2 weeks to recover from corona and after that specific period, it is essential to consume foods which are beneficial to pace up recovery time. A healthy diet plays a crucial role in maintaining our health good or bad depending upon the type of food we are consuming. A good diet will lead you toward good health of overall body systems. In this segment, we will tell you some health beneficial foods which are favorable to recover your health after corona.

Diet Plan for Post Covid19 Patients

Early morning- Milk (1 glass) + Almonds (5)

Breakfast- Veg Idli/ Ragi Dosa/ Wheat broken porridge/ Dhokla/ Pongal/ Moong Dal sprouts/ Mint chutney/ Onion tomato chutney/ Tomato chutney/ Chapati with Vegetable or Dal + Salad + Curd

Mid-morning- Fruits (Guava, Apple, Papaya, Orange)

Lunch- Brown rice/ Chapati with Vegetable or Dal + Salad + Curd

Evening-  Milk (1 glass)/ Sweet potatoes/  Dry fruits/ Boiled legumes

Dinner- Brown rice/ Broken wheat porridge/ Wheat dosa/ Chana curry/ Wheat dosa

Before bed- Milk with mixed turmeric + Almonds (5)

✔️ FOODS TO CONSUME❌ FOODS TO AVOID
✔️ Cereals: Wheat, Millet, Oats, Brown rice, Sorghum, Little millet, Foxtail millet, Pearl millet, Buckwheat❌ Refined flour and its products
✔️ Vegetables: Bitter gourd, bottle gourd, okra, potato, fenugreek leaves, peas, carrot, spinach, mushrooms, kale, cauliflower, cabbage, broccoli, radish, coriander, red onion, celery, ginger, pumpkin, sweet potato, zucchini❌ Avoid all canned and frozen vegetables
✔️ Fruits: Grapes, pineapple, sapodilla, sweet lime, orange, custard apple, litchi, mango, figs, all types of berries, pomegranate, coconut, pear, peaches, avocado, muskmelon, watermelon,  banana, apple ❌ Avoid all canned and packed fruits and juices 
✔️ Pulses: All types of Pulses 
✔️ Dairy Products: Butter, cottage cheese, buttermilk, yogurt, curd, tofu and low fat milk ❌ Avoid dairy products- whole milk and cream, condensed milk, cream cheese, full fat yogurt and unpasteurized cheese 
✔️ Oils: Coconut oil, mustard oil, olive oil, canola oil, sunflower oil and cow ghee ❌ Avoid palm oil 
✔️ Spices: Carom, cinnamon, fennel, ginger, turmeric, coriander and cumin❌ Red chilli 
✔️ Drinks: Homemade juices, homemade soups, sugarcane juice and coconut water❌ Drink including cream based liqueurs, carbonated drinks, squashes, sweetened drinks, alcohol, canned and packaged soup and whole milk drinks
✔️ Flesh foods: Skinless chicken, lean meat, grilled fish, roasted chicken and egg white ❌ Drink including cream based liqueurs, carbonated drinks, squashes, sweetened drinks, alcohol, canned and packaged soup and whole milk drinks
✔️ Dry fruits: Sesame seeds, sunflower seeds, flax seeds, chia seeds, pumpkin seeds, cashew, pistachio, hazel nuts peanuts, walnut, ground nuts, raisins and almonds  
✔️ Sweeteners: including Jaggery and Honey only❌ Avoid all bakery products, fried foods, junk foods, biscuit, ice-cream, cakes, or all packed and processed foods

  1. Take proper rest or sleep for at least 8 hours daily
  2. Do some light workouts daily according to your body health
  3. Consume whole fruits rather than fruit juices
  4. Check oxygen levels in the blood at a fixed interval of time
  5. Drink 8-10 glasses of water daily
